The H2gO Purifier is the result of a team of researchers and engineers working to create the best personal water purifier in the world. H2gO is a pocket-sized water purifier for individuals, families, and small groups that uses a state-of-the-art process called electrolysis to convert brine into a sterilizing solution. Most city water utilities use the same core technology.

The H2gO is effective, economical, and easy to use. It is virtually free to operate, requiring only common salt to make the brine. The device can be charged via the integral solar panel or USB-C port. Each full charge of the H2gO Purifier PRIME easily purifies 120 liters (32 gallons) of potable water and over 60,000 liters (16,000 gallons) before the battery starts to become less useful, and the H2gO Purifier GLOBAL purifies 240 liters (65 gallons) of potable water per charge and over 120,000 liters (32,000 gallons) over its useful life.

(NOTE: Capacities for the H2gO PRIME are based on a standard single 5 mg/L dose in alignment with the EPA Guide Standard & Protocol for Testing Microbiological Water Purifiers. Treating for Cryptosporidium in cloudy or colored waters may require more than one dose. Capacities for the H2gO GLOBAL are based on a standard single 2.5 mg/L dose in alignment with World Health Organization (WHO) Household Water Treatment & Safe Storage Guidelines for destroying bacteria and viruses. Protozoan cysts require dosing in excess of the standard.)

Operation

The purification process is simple and rapid:

1. Quickly mix a brine solution in the included brine bottle. Add any type of salt (including common table salt) to the fill mark, fill to the top with any type of water, then shake. The bottle holds 12-15 applications.

2. Pour the brine into the electrolytic cell chamber, select your treatment volume, and activate the device with a couple clicks of a button. Within 15 seconds to 5 minutes (depending on volume selected), the disinfectant is ready with no pumping, stirring, or shaking required.

3. Add the few drops of disinfectant to your water container, wait about 30 minutes, and then drink. It is that simple.

*Independent testing confirms virus and bacteria inactivation at a 2.5 mg/L dose and Giardia inactivation at a 5 mg/L dose in any water quality. The device is compliant with both the World Health Organization (WHO) Household Water Treatment Scheme (HWTS) and the EPA Guide Standard and Protocol for Testing Microbiological Water Purifiers and is registered with the US EPA as demonstrated by significant microbiological test protocols. Current instructions for inactivation of Cryptosporidium, starting with a 5 mg/L dose, follow the same protocol that the 1st generation purifier (MSR MIOX Purifier) used to pass EPA standards. Refer to dosing protocols spelled out in detail in the instructions included with each device.

The H2gO PRIME water purifier treats a maximum of 10L of water with a single 5 mg/L dose of chlorine. The device meets The US EPA Guide Standard and Protocol for Testing Microbiological Water Purifiers, identified by NSF International as NSF P231. The PRIME delivers a 5 mg/L dose of free available chlorine (FAC) when used per instructions.  A single 5 mg/L dose will inactivate bacteria, viruses, and Giardia cysts in both clear and dirty waters and Cryptosporidium in clear waters. (Note that inactivation of Cryptosporidium in dirty waters may require more than one dose. Safety test strips can confirm if additional doses are needed.)

H2gO GLOBAL Purifier

The H2gO GLOBAL water purifier delivers a 2.5 mg/L dose of chlorine to treat anywhere from 1 to 20L of water at a time, in alignment with CDC Safe Water System requirements common in developing nations. (The CDC Safe Water System incorporates a 20L countertop container and bottled chlorine, which has been demonstrated by numerous agencies to save lives. Safe Water System users are instructed to add a single capful of chlorine to clean-looking water and two capfuls to dirty-looking water, with each capful providing a 2 mg/L FAC dose.)  The H2gO GLOBAL can be used in place of bottled chlorine, eliminating degradation issues, ongoing cost, and the logistics of transporting disinfectant.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has established a standard for Household Water Treatment Systems for developing nations. This is known as the WHO Household Water Treatment Scheme.  The H2gO GLOBAL meets the “highly protective” 3-star category for virus and bacteria treatment with a single 2.5 mg/L dose.  Testing shows that a double dose will also inactivate protozoan cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium, ultimately qualifying the H2gO Purifier for the “protective” 2-star category.  (At the time we submitted information for the WHO HWTS scheme, we had not yet developed the dosing protocol for protozoa, so the scheme currently lists the H2gO under “Targeted Protection” based on bacteria and virus kill alone.)

Custom Design 

For orders of 2,000 or more, we are able to customize a device to fit your market. For example, H2gO Purifiers used in Haiti are programmed to offer only the commonly used volumes of 1 gallon and 5 gallons, while the overlay is in the Kreyol language. Warranty

Product Limited Warranty. The H2gO® Purifier electrolytic water treatment device (the “Product”) is warranted by Aqua Research, Inc. (the “Company”) to conform to the Product Specifications presented on the SPECIFICATIONS page of the Instruction Manual, and to be free from defect in materials or workmanship under normal use and service for one year from the date of original purchase. The limited warranty period for any replacement Product under this Limited Warranty shall be the remainder of the original one-year warranty period. This Limited Warranty extends only to Products sold to the original end-user purchaser (the “Owner”) by Company or by retailers and distributors authorized by Company. Company’s sole obligation under this Limited Warranty, and Owner’s exclusive remedy, is to: (a) repair or replace, at Company’s sole discretion, free of charge, any Product that Company determines to be nonconforming or defective, or (b) refund the price paid for such Product. Owner’s right to such remedy under this Limited Warranty requires that any nonconforming or defective Product be returned directly to the Company: DO NOT RETURN PRODUCT TO A RETAILER OR DISTRIBUTOR for repair, replacement or refund under this Limited Warranty. Company reserves the right to utilize reconditioned, refurbished, repaired or re-manufactured Products in the warranty repair or replacement process. Such repaired or replacement Products will be comparable in value, function and performance to an original Product and warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Exclusions to the Limited Warranty. This Limited Warranty does not apply to, and Company offers NO WARRANTY with respect to: (a) any cosmetic defects that have no bearing on the Product’s intended function or operation; (b) any Products which have been subject to alterations in any way, improper maintenance, misuse, abuse, negligence, accident, improper storage or use in a manner or for purposes inconsistent with its design, labeling or intended purpose; (c) damage caused by use contrary to the Instruction Manual and any warnings from Company; (d) damage caused by extreme weather conditions; (e) damage caused by exposure to chemicals or abrasive cleaners; (f) damage caused by normal wear and tear; (g) Product accessories including, but not limited to, the USB cable and power adapter; or (h) Product that is returned to a retailer or distributor and not to the Company.

Warranty Service. To be eligible for service under this Limited Warranty, Owner must: (1) present evidence of the warranty start date to the Company with valid proof of purchase by either registering the Product online at aquaresearch.com/register within 30 days of purchase (please note that online registration requires Owner to upload an image of valid proof of purchase receipt), or retaining and sending copy of the original proof of purchase receipt, (2) report and describe the Product nonconformity or defect to the Company via e-mail at info@aquaresearch.com within seven days of discovering the covered defect, and (3) establish eligibility for service under this Limited Warranty directly with the Company and not with a retailer or distributor of the Product. DO NOT CONTACT A RETAILER OR DISTRIBUTOR OF THE PRODUCT FOR REPAIR, REPLACEMENT OR REFUND under this Limited Warranty. Once eligibility for service under this Limited Warranty has been established by the Company, a Return Authorization Number will be issued and detailed shipping instructions provided. DO NOT SHIP OR RETURN PRODUCT WITHOUT A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. Products shipped without a Return Authorization Number will not be accepted for service under this Limited Warranty and will be returned to the Owner at the Owner’s expense.
